El salvapantallas se atasca en "cargar fotos"

Mi MacBook Pro con Mojave se atasca en la "carga de fotos" cuando se activa el salvapantallas o la vista previa.

He reiniciado el SMC y la NVRAM pero no ha servido de nada.

También he eliminado com.apple.screensaver*.plist de la carpeta Biblioteca y Caché, pero tampoco funcionó.

Los protectores de pantalla que no son fotos funcionan bien (como Flurry, Shell...)

Pero no hay ningún problema si me conecto con otra cuenta (como la de invitado).

Si arranco en modo seguro, no hay salvapantallas de fotos.

¿Cómo puedo resolver este molesto problema?

Según la sugerencia de Buscar, estoy intentando restablecer los permisos. Pero en el paso 7, tengo un mensaje de error:

Aun así he reiniciado el ordenador, pero el problema persiste.

Actualización 2 Ahora he conseguido restablecer los permisos del usuario después de ejecutar chflags -R nouchg ~ (que se encuentra en el enlace de Buscar's). Pero el problema se mantiene después de reiniciar el sistema:
