Me ha pasado un par de veces hasta ahora, no sé qué pasa. Creo que está relacionado con tener un monitor externo conectado al portátil.
Mi flujo de trabajo habitual es hacer que el MBP cierre la sesión por la mañana para que TimeMachine haga una copia de seguridad de mi directorio principal de FileVaulted. Desconecto todo (hub USB, monitor externo, alimentación) y le digo al MBP que duerma, luego cierro la tapa.
Utilizo el sistema durante el día y cuando llego a casa vuelvo a conectar el USB y la pantalla externa.
Dos veces en unas pocas semanas he tenido la pantalla en el LCD externo ir blanco y la pantalla incorporada ir completamente azul, no kernel panic, no muestra errores, nada. Me veo obligado a apagarlo manteniendo el botón de encendido y luego volver a arrancarlo.
Anoche me lo hizo. Tenía mi correo electrónico/navegador web abierto y me senté, toqué el ratón, y las pantallas simplemente saltaron a blanco sólido y el incorporado a azul sólido.
La última vez que recuerdo que ocurrió esto tenía Spaces activado, y pensando que había un problema con el monitor externo conectado con Spaces activado (creo que el fallo ocurrió después de que el MBP se durmiera durante la noche, conectado a la corriente, y lo despertara por la mañana para que se estropeara) deshabilité Spaces y pareció ser más estable, ya que no recuerdo que ocurriera durante bastante tiempo.
Abrí los registros del servidor de la ventana para el momento de la caída y sólo encontré esto (el reinicio fue cerca de las 7:15 PM):

Running (currently) 10.6.5, all updates according to the update utility, and I ran the permission fix and disk check after the previous crash. No filesystem errors were detected, although it did change some permissions.
